A Year of Netwalking: Four Seasons, Countless Connections

Friday marked our forth and final Netwalking event of 2025 – and what a journey it’s been!

What started as a small idea has blossomed into one of our favourite community events here at West Midlands House. A year ago, we wanted to create something that brough local businesses together in a way that felt natural and authentic – something that reflected our values as a business centre built on connection, collaboration, and community spirit.

Why Netwalking?

At West Midlands House, we’ve always believed that business is about more than just office space. It’s about people – the ideas they bring, the stories they share, and the relationships they build.

That’s exactly why Netwalking Willenhall was born. Instead of the usual networking breakfast or boardroom event, we wanted to create an opportunity where business owners could connect on a deeper level – out in the open air, surrounded by nature, with conversation flowing freely as we strolled through Willenhall Memorial Park.

And over the past twelve months, that simple idea has turned into something truly special.

Four Seasons of Inspiration

Through the changing seasons of 2025, our Netwalking events have inspired, uplifted, and connected dozens of local entrepreneurs, freelancers, and community doers. Each walk has had it’s own flavour, theme, and speaker – all bringing something unique to our growing network.

❄️ Winter (14th Feb) – Kerry Tonks, Mental Health educator & speaker, kicked off the year by reminding us to prioritise our wellbeing and make time to take care of ourselves, even in the busyness of running a business. A reading of “Winter” by Saida Chowdhury set a thoughtful tone for the year ahead.

🌱 Spring (9th May) – Danny Pardoe, Apprenticeships Growth Manager, inspired us to keep learning and growing, using American Football to show how stepping outside our comfort zone can be both fun and rewarding.

☀️ Summer (8th Aug) – Charlotte Davies, TedX Speaker and expert copywriter, shared how powerful storytelling can be in building your brand and connecting with others.

🍂 Autumn Finale (7th Nov) – Sharon Fern, Chartered MCIPD, closed the year by showing us how better conversations can transform the way we communicate and collaborate.

Each session has sparked meaningful discussions, new partnerships, and even friendships that extend beyond the park gates.

Building a Community That Walks the Talk

What we’ve loved most about these events isn’t just the exercise of the fresh air – it’s seeing people from all walks of business life come together. Whether it’s a start-up owner sharing their first big win, a seasoned business leader offering advice, or someone simply taking time out to recharge, every walk has had it’s own stories and moments of connection.

We’ve watched business cards turn into coffee catch-ups, and casual chats become lasting collaborations. And as organisers, it’s been a joy to see how something as simple as a walk in the park can build such strong relationships.

At West Midlands House, that’s what we’re all about – creating spaces where businesses can thrive. Whether it’s through our flexible office spaces, meeting rooms, or community-led events like Netwalking Willenhall, our goal is to help local businesses grow while feeling supported every step of the way.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we wrap up this year of Netwalking, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us along the way. Your enthusiasm, openness, and support have made these events something truly special.

But this isn’t the end – far from it! We’re already planning our next round of Netwalking events for 2026, with new themes, new speakers, and even more opportunities to walk, talk, and connect.

If you’ve yet to join us, we’d love to welcome you next year. Bring your walking shoes, your business cards, and your curiosity – you never know who you might meet or what ideas might bloom along the way.

Here’s to another year of community, conversation, and collaboration – one step at a time.
